How do I install a WebCT coursepack?

Add a Norton Coursepack to your new or existing WebCT course and, in minutes, you'll have access to high quality, customizable tools for learning and assessment--all at no cost to you, or your students. Follow these instructions to install your WebCT coursepack.

How do I install a WebCT coursepack?

  1. If you do not already have a blank course set up in WebCT, ask your local IT staff to create one for you.
  2. Download the appropriate version of your coursepack from the Norton Resource Library and save the compressed file to your desktop. Very important: Do NOT unzip the coursepack after downloading.
  3. Access your course shell.
  4. Click Basic Control Panel.
  5. Click Manage Course.
  6. Click Upload Backup under the Backup Course heading.
  7. Use the Browse feature to locate the zip file (xxx_xxx_WCTce4.zip or xxx_xxx_WCTce6.zip) on your desktop.
  8. When the backup has uploaded, click the radio button beside xxx_xxx_WCTce4.zip or xxx_xxx_WCTce6.zip.
  9. Click Reset Course at the bottom of the list on the right-hand side of the window.
  10. Wait for the restoration process to complete (the blue progress bar will disappear and it will display a message indicating completion).
  11. Click Basic Control Panel.
  12. Click Update Student View and allow the course to rebuild.
  13. Finally, click Homepage to view the restored course.
